“I have a lot of really fun memories here. I have a lot of really hard memories here, but I have grown a lot at Disney,” Jojo Siwa let fans know in a recent interview that the most magical place on earth was where she realised she is a lesbian.
“I fell in love for the first time at Disney World. I realized I was gay at Disney World. I went through stages of heartbreak at Disney World. There’s been a lot in my personal life that Disney World has really attributed to.” Jojo Siwa continued in a recent interview letting everybody know she is personally happy whilst dealing with all those feelings that often come with realising your sexuality.
In January 2021, Jojo Siwa came out to fans over on TikTok as she told everybody she was dating her good friend Kylie Prew for one month already. It was after a 14 days visit full of happy memories to Disney World with Kylie Prew that Jojo Siwa realised perhaps they were more than just really good friends and she was either gay or bisexual.
However, sadly the pair are no longer together as Siwa experienced her first time in the land of heartbreak as the two decided to not be together anymore.
The Signs Were All There Before Disney World
Even before dating her friend, Siwa said she realized she had never been exactly subtle about her feelings. Back in June/July 2022, Siwa famously clashed with the actress Candance Cameron as she stated she was one of the rudest celebrities she had ever met!
Long before any of the interview site or other media platforms announced Siwa had a girlfriend, her and her family sort of knew she wasn’t exactly straight anyway.
Siwa recalls feeling proud to wear rainbows at any given opportunity as well as doing most of her clothes shopping in June so she could secure the most rainbow merch over the summer.
Even as we watched her as a dancer on Dance Moms she was the only girl who never had any interest in any boy who would come into her life. Siwa is especially good at looking back at the classic moments on the show where she watched her teammates with some clips even showing her clearly admiring the girls.
The Happiest Place on Earth and Much Support From Family
If you have seen any clips inside Jojo’s house you can already guess that her mom was totally cool with her daughter coming out of the closet. In fact, in one discussion with the press, Jojo even stated coming out was not the scariest thing to have happened to her. She was much more concerned with how her mom would react to her no longer sporting her trademark high pony!
Of course, coming out as gay is not any easy task even if you have a super cool mom like Jojo has. Sadly for many it can seem like a huge deal and cause major family tensions so we’re pleased to know that Miss Siwa has plenty of warmth and kindness at home to support her on her journey.
What Next For Jojo?
As Jojo continues her journey as more of a pop star than a professional dance star, we can’t wait to see what unfolds for her. We’ve already seen her navigate an unfortunately public break up as well as some scandal when it comes to her latest records so it feels like she could take on anything at this point.
Whether she conquers her next project alone or with a partner, it’ll be great to see her continue her career as a performer in the spotlight. Obviously, we’ll continue to keep a close eye on the star’s love life too as she navigates dating within the LGBTQ+ community as a young person and maybe even finds true love!

Honestly this kinda hit different for me. I remember being on a trip with my best friend a few years back and just feeling something shift, you know? Like suddenly everything made sense but also nothing did. Took me a while to figure it out but yeah certain places just stick with you.
